# iOS app

> Connect the TestFlight iPhone app to Access on your Mac using a human profile and the Mobile API.

The Access iOS companion is currently available through **TestFlight**.
For access, contact [hello@gatetrix.ai](mailto:hello@gatetrix.ai).

Use it to read status updates, follow jobs, and handle approvals from your iPhone.
The Mac hosts the data and service; the iPhone connects to that Mac.

## Connect your iPhone

1. In the Mac app, open **Human Profiles**, create a profile, and choose its role
and workspace visibility. Create a mobile credential for it.
2. Connect the Mac and iPhone to an authenticated, encrypted private VPN. Under
**Access Channels → Mobile API**, enable the API for network access.
3. In the iOS app, enter an API URL using the Mac's VPN address with the port and
`/api` prefix configured in Access, and the human profile's bearer token.
The iOS app stores the token in Keychain.
4. Confirm that the expected workspaces and jobs appear. Actions depend on the
   profile's [role](/access/permissions#human-profiles).

Keep the Mac awake and Access running; its window can be closed. `127.0.0.1`
on your iPhone refers to the iPhone, so use the Mac's VPN address to send traffic
through the encrypted route. Plain HTTP alone does not protect the token or
traffic in transit, even on a network you trust. Do not expose the endpoint
directly to the public internet.

## What you can do

Viewers can follow work in their selected workspaces. Operators can also create
tasks and mark status updates read. Admins can decide approvals, complete or
cancel tasks, manage schedules, and inspect audit activity.

Connector setup, OAuth sign-in, folder grants, profile permissions, and filesystem
browsing remain in the Mac app. Even a mobile Admin uses the operational
[Mobile API](/access/mobile-api), not the full desktop administration interface.
